Fáilte !
A Chairde,
Fáilte romhaibh!
It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website.
Since our foundation in 1867, we have been a seat of learning for the boys of Monaghan Town and its hinterland. Our past pupils are in all walks of life and in all corners of the world. We encourage our past pupils to come back to St. Mary's to share their life's journey and to inspire our current pupils.
Since the turn of the century, we have had the pleasure of welcoming many pupils from all around the world to Scoil Mhuire, these pupils greatly enrich our school community.
Instead of merely reading about World War II or other current world events, our pupils can give first hand accounts from their grandparents and indeed, on occasion, their own personal experience. This makes learning real and current for all.
With an A to Z of pupils from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe we have a truly global outlook !
Our aim is to support each pupil to reach their full potential, both academically and personally, by prioritising learning, well-being, and extracurricular activities.
I invite you to explore our website and learn more about the St. Mary's school community. I hope you find it to be a useful resource and I encourage you to visit frequently.
Le gach dea-ghuí,
Colm Mac Cinna
Principal
