There's a very close tie between good health and good education.
Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE) is focused on promoting the holistic development of pupils, including their social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
In Scoil Mhuire, we are committed to providing a rich and engaging experience for all in SPHE. We use a range of strategies and approaches to support all pupils in developing their social and emotional skills, including active listening, communication, problem-solving, decision-making and conflict resolution.
We place a strong emphasis on promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, where pupils feel safe, respected, and valued. Our pupils are encouraged to develop positive relationships with their peers, family, and the wider community.
Everyone should have the opportunity to learn in a positive learning environment, to enjoy the learning process and feel comfortable and content within it.
We follow the Stay Safe programme and provide this instruction every year in every class.
We use a range of resources to support our teaching of SPHE, including textbooks, online resources, and practical activities. We also invite guest speakers, experts and community volunteers to share their experiences and expertise with our pupils.
We aim to support all pupils in developing their social and emotional skills, and to promote their overall health and wellbeing.
Always find time for the things that make you happy.
