Geography

The study of geography is about more than just memorizing places on a map. It's about understanding the complexity of our world, appreciating the diversity of cultures that exists across continents. And in the end, it's about using all that knowledge to help bridge divides and bring people together

Teaching of Geography is focused on developing pupils' understanding of the world around them, including physical and human features, natural resources, and cultural diversity. In St. Mary’s we provide a rich and engaging experience for our pupils in Geography.

Our teachers use a range of strategies and approaches to support students in developing their understanding of key concepts, such as maps, climate, and the environment.

Our pupils also have access to a wide range of resources, including books, maps, atlases and digital tools, to support their learning and engage their interest in the subject.

We also aim to teach our pupils about the Geography of our local area.

Our approach to teaching Geography is focused on promoting an understanding and appreciation of the world we live in, as well as developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
